
James Dunn has trial experience in federal and state courts and currently focuses his practice in tort and business litigation, employment discrimination and civil rights violations, personal injury, real estate litigation including eminent domain and Chapter 21E environmental claims, defamation and trade disparagement, and commercial transactions.
Mr. Dunn was born in Framingham, Massachusetts. He began practicing law in 1993 for the Law Offices of Joseph Steinkrauss, a general practice law office in Lexington, Massachusetts. From 1997 through 2002 he was a litigation associate at White and Williams LLP of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a two-hundred-attorney firm for whom he litigated insurance fraud, partnership disputes, consumer protection claims, and product liability cases. Mr. Dunn returned to Massachusetts and briefly joined Bourbeau & Floyd of Boston where he litigated personal injury and eminent domain cases. Before joining Gallagher and Cavanaugh, he spent two years at the Boston firm of Pierce, Davis & Perritano, LLP, where he defended individuals, manufacturers, insurers, municipalities, and school systems against a variety of claims including those involving product liability, civil rights, unfair insurance practices, Chapter 21E environmental claims, and alleged breaches of employment trade secret and non-compete agreements.
Mr. Dunn was admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 1993 and Pennsylvania in 1997. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and of the District of Massachusetts.
